Yes, I'm still alive and kicking...well, alive anyway! I want to thank each of you dear friends who have lifted me up in prayer and thank you for each sweet comment left. It is so nice to hear that I have been missed. I really am doing a lot better this week. My body is slowly but surely adjusting to my blood sugar meds, thank the Lord! My count would be over 200 then drop suddenly after I took a pill, which caused me to get the shakes, sweats and nausea. No fun at all!! The time I've been spending on the computer has been research on diabetes and diet and I've learned a lot! The good news is, I have lost 6 pounds and still eating well!!
I especially want to thank Jo for all the emails and advice on diabetes. She has been so helpful to me and even did a post on her blog, Bits and Pieces, telling about her struggle with this disease. If you haven't already read this post, you can go here to read it. Thank you, Jo, for caring enough to help me and especially for letting me know that I'm not alone
in this. Also for letting me know that it's okay to obsess over it a little! :O)
Now on to happier things! We have had beautiful weather here this week with temps in the upper 70's. I think it might have even gone into the low 80's today! Dogwood winter is getting ready to set in so another cold snap is due. I've really been enjoying the warmth and sunshine while it's here. My flowers aren't blooming yet but my yard is blessed with wildflowers, dandelions and violets...
and even some weeds that look pretty to me!
Last year the grandkids got me a lilac bush for Mother's Day. Lilacs are my favorite! All during the drought we had last summer I watered the little bush faithfully but it kept looking so bad. Even before fall came it had lost all it's leaves and looked like a dried up twig. Dave suggested once that we just needed to pull it up...there was no hope for it...but "hope" is my middle name (pun intended! LOL), so it stayed put!! This spring we have had a lot of rain and plenty of sunshine and my little lilac bush is thriving and now getting ready to bloom! I will take pictures as soon as it does!
I'm going to try and get around to visit all of you and catch up. I know I have missed a lot so it will take me a while! Much love, Hope!

Girl, I am so sorry that you have been sick. I REALLY understand why you have been breaking a bit.
The flower pics are gorgeous!
Be blessed.

Hi, Mom! Good to know that the lilac bush is thriving. I've been meaning to ask you if it has survived because the refund policy is almost up on it! Love you, Jen
Gosh so glad to hear from you! I was getting so worried and missing my friend. I wish I could come help you out dear.
Hope,
I have checked everyday to see if you posted. So glad to see you are feeling better. Enjoy this beautiful day!
Sandra
So good to see you posting again, Hope. I have really missed you. I'm glad and thankful that you are feeling better. I need to check Jo's site to see what she has to say about diabetes. You know Ed is diabetic, but he doesn't manage is too well and I don't know enough to be able to help him.
Beautiful Spring pictures.
Love you,
Betty
Never give up hope
and glad you're feeling better!!
and thanks for sharing the blooms
even the dandelions look good.
lovingly, deena
Glad you're feeling better, Hope! I've just been told I'm pre-diabetic, which means I may go fully diabetic at any time. My fasting blood sugar count was 139 and they consider you fully diabetic at 140. No meds right now, but it could change any time.
It's Spring here too, but our dogwoods are blooming away. We call our Spring cold snap Blackberry Winter because they're usually blooming when we have our last chilly spell.
That last weed you pictured is skullcap. We have lots of it here, and it's beautiful in big drifts across fallow fields and roadsides.
Hope you continue to feel better, and have a great weekend!
Love and hugs,
Diane
Hope - I am so glad you are back. I've missed you! I have those same weeds that look like flowers in my back yard. Right across from the double doors in my dining room. I keep thinking I need to pull them but I kind of like the color - the purples and the bright yellows of the dandelions. I'd better deal with them soon before it becomes a jungle out there. ~Adrienne~
Hi Hope! So happy you are back!! But please take care of your self!! I am diabetic too! I take two insulin shots a day and it isn't any fun!!
AND Yes, it is terrible when your blood sugar falls too low!! Oh my!! So I try to watch it pretty close! But once in a while I slip up!!
It is so cold here and calling for snow flurries for tomorrow!! Love and hugs Grams
Hey girl...welcome back.
Don't forget, you know where to find me if you need me.
The fields up here are loaded with those weeds that you posted. To look out onto acres and acres of purple...Well it is just beautiful.
Hope, I have an award for you on my blog posting for today.
I hope you are feeling better and having a good night.
Hope it's great to have you back! I'm happy the meds are beginning to help....just take each day as it comes and stay strong. Love all the beautiful flowers...I love violets. I always say they are brave little souls....they endure such harsh weather and come back bringing us joy. Hugs, Linda
Hope,
I'm so glad you are feeling better. Love all the photos of the flowers. In my part of the country the only things that have bloomed yet are my snowdrops and my daughter has crocus in bloom. Next will be tulips and daffodils.
We had a rainy day here today but northern Ontario had snow, so we are lucky.
There is definitely a lot to learn about diabetes. I just read Jo's post and learned that fatigue can be associated with diabetes. Now I know why I am tired all of the time.
Take care and if you have time, drop by for a visit.
Blessings,
Mary
Thanks so much for stopping by. I have missed you. I had read on other blogs that you were not well. I am so sorry to hear that. We would be good company!! I am feeling some better to day.. I will get okay..it is going to just take time. Thanks for visiting me ...Sandy
Hey Hope:
Good to see that you are doing better. And thanks for your visit and comment. You know, I was reading some of the comments on your site and was pleased with the knowledge that Jo’s research has helped so many people who has the same problem with diabetes. I had no idea that the problem was so widespread! I’ve noticed that as I browse through other blogs that her name pops up in a lot of their comments sections… I do hope that you and all the rest of the folks with this problem can keep it under control…..
Have a great weekend………… JD

Jen
I have missed you hope! I loved your pictures of the flowers.Your in my thoughts and prayers. Lisa
Good Morning Hope,
I didn't visit any yesterday because all I wanted to do was lay around and rest. I guess it was from all the walking and shopping from Saturday. LOL. We did have a good time on Saturday tho and the girls were happy, so that is what counts. It has done turned Winter time here again. We are under a Freeze Warning for tonight and into in the morning. The low is suppose to get down to 32 degrees here tonight. Your flowers are beautiful. I haven't bought any yet to plant, so I'm glad I haven't since it's turned cold again. "PRAISE GOD" you are feeling better. "CONGRATULATION'S" on losing the 6 pounds thus far. I know I need to lose some weight, but it's so hard when you are trying to do it alone. I still haven't gotten everything unpacked. LOL. I keep forgetting to take my camera places with me as I'm not used to having a camera. As soon as we are all unpacked, I will be taking some pictures. I'm gonna go now and take my meds and eat me a bowl of cereal. I have some laundry to do today as well. It seems as tho I never get caught up on laundry. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.
Love & Hugs,
Karen H.
Hope,
So sorry to hear about your diabetes....our son-in-law is diabetic and has had some serious problems but in general he does fine as long as he eats correctly and takes his medicine as he should.
It concerns me also that Oprah thinks its okay to live with Stedman without the benefit of marriage as long as no children are involved. This I heard her say. She has worthwhile programs such as Dr. Oz...but the new age philosophy goes against biblical teaching.
Thank you for visiting with me...Betty
I love your name and we have alot in common- I don'yt have diabetes but my Mom does and your in my prayers. check out my blog and I'll be coming back to check on you. Be blessed!MeMe Lorie
