I know I haven't been a very good blogger lately so I'm going to try to catch up a bit starting with Easter. We actually had our Easter get together on Saturday since we have to work around everybody's schedules. Nothing about our Easter was very traditional. We had pork barbeque, baked beans, cole slaw and chocolate eclairs for dessert!! (I had a little of everything except dessert!) We usually do Easter dinner at my house but this year my daughter was our hostess. We all had a great time eating, hiding and hunting eggs and just enjoying our time together. And of course there were photo opportunities for me!
I took this picture of Claire explaining to Uncle Dave and Kian how to jump a big ditch, and trying to talk Kian into jumping!
When her powers of persuasion didn't work, she demonstrated...looks like she's flying!
Finally Kian got brave enough and jumped too. He looks like he's falling into the ditch but he actually made it across.
Then the adults hid the Easter eggs for the kids to hunt...
and the kids hid eggs for the adults to hunt:
While some of the adults were pushing and shoving trying to get to the same egg, Jenny was wandering off by herself finding one egg after another and won the egg hunt!
It was too windy for Josie to be outside so she napped while we played. She had her own purple and pink Easter basket and a personalized egg:
After her nap she posed for Granny to get some pictures:
She even smiled for me (actually she was smiling at Daddy):
Even Pamela posed for me with her new outfit, actually a hand-me-down that Josie outgrew!
Even if we weren't traditional, we had a great time making our own traditions and most importantly, making memories!

I enjoyed all your Easter pics, Hope. What fun! I don't believe we've ever had the kids hide the eggs for the adults to find, but it sounds like fun.
I think Miss Emmy had a sleeper just like the one Josie outgrew, and Josie is getting so big! In no time she'll be crawling and then walking. These little times pass by so fast for them...
Hope your new week is a good one, and that your doctor gets your meds adjusted so you feel better!
Love and hugs,
Diane
Hi Hope,
Looks like you and your loved ones had a wonderful Easter. Love the pictures! Josie is prescious. You are fortunate to get to see and enjoy your grandchildren often. I hope you're feeling well, and have a great week.
Blessings,
Renie
Hi Hope~

What a fun Easter you had. And Miss Josie's smile is a winner! ~Adrienne~
The making memories is the best part of any family gathering. What a heart breaker Josie is going to be with that smile of hers. She is a doll baby.
You do know that you don't have to completely give up those sweet treats completely just because you are diabetic?? I am still planning on doing a post in the near future. I am playing catch up too.
Thank you for sharing your day with us.
Those are picture perfect memories.
Glad to see you are back in blogland! Looks like you had a nice Easter. Little Josie is getting so big!

That looks like a fun Easter! It amazed me how it turned off cold after such a lovely Saturday. Is Uncle Dave YOUR Dave? Handsome guy! And Josie - That smile! She looks like her Grandma!
Be blessed and it was good to hear from you!
Jennifer
What a fun time. Kids hiding eggs for the adults to hunt. That's a different spin on things, lol, but that would be so much fun for me to have a chance to hunt Easter eggs. After all, we all still have a child inside us just waiting to get out.
Josie is really growning. Special baby.
Hugs,
Betty
Good Afternoon Hope,
I hope you have gotten some good news from your doctor by now. I enjoyed the pictures of your Easter. I think each Family is entitled to celebrate Easter the way they want to instead of going with tradition all the time. I've never heard of the kids hiding the eggs for the adults before. Our girls have outgrown Easter and we haven't dyed eggs or bought Easter baskets in a couple of years now. That Josie is really growing and I can see alot of you in her. Yeap, I sure can. This year Easter was just another day around here. My DH had left early that morning, and me and the girls didn't go anywhere. My DH's side of the Family had their Easter Dinner that Saturday. We didn't go because it was the same Saturday as my Birthday Party was. I am doing laundry this afternoon. Our oldest daughter is suppose to have a softball game tonight, but I don't know if they will be able to play or not. We got some more rain last night. The Sun is trying to come out now, but rain is back in the forecast for tomorrow night and on Thursday. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.
Love & Hugs,
Karen H.
Hi Hope, I loved seeing all your Easter pictures...you all are having such fun. Family gatherings are wonderful. Josie is precious.....and what a sweet smile fo her Dad. Hugs, Linda
What a fun day! And how your "baby" is growing! Oh, my!
I just came over to tell you that at my house I would pour coffee into your tea cup and call it "tea"! I love just about any hot beverage... and I actually like coffee better than tea... but I'm having fun having "tea" with my girls in the afternoon regardless of what is in our cups! (Today I had orange spice tea, one daughter had hot cocoa, and the other put iced tea in her cup--with ice!!--in a cup and saucer. Whatever!)
I have you two things on my page please come over and pick them up.
great photos, and as far as a "traditional" Easter we all have to make our own traditions, the best traditions are the ones where Family gettogether and enjoy life. What could be better that that. I had a slightly different word to say but I don't think too many people will remember this one,Piffle one "traditional" things as my grandma would have said.
Glad you all had a great Easter!! Love the way you captured the day with your beautiful pictures!! Its nice to have a change to how we celebrate things!!! Have a great day~Wendy
Hi hope thanks for stopping by!! Please do add me to your list as I would be honored!! I too will add you to muine as I love to come and read your blog!!! Have a great night!!~Wendy
Hi Hope!! Karen brought the laptop over last night and got it going again!! I sure hope it stays fixed!! I have missed you!! Love and Hugs Grams Your pictures are adorable!
Hi Hope, I was visiting Betty and saw your link. I love your header, it reminds me of my grandmother's kitchen drawer! Your Easter pics are very sweet. That little baby is such a doll. I bet you have a hard time not holding her all the time. My "baby" is almost 7yrs old now and both of my children are not planning on having anymore, so I will have to be content with 5 grandchildren. I would to have you visit sometime. I have both Cricket's Hearth and a new project I call Slice of Life Sunday. Stop in anytime. I hope are feeling better soon. Cricket
Hi Hope! I did a meme today and then lost it but Mary said to look in my drafts and see if it was there and it was and so I have put it on my post!! I have tagged you for this one! When ever you get time and if you haven't done this one!! or just don't worry about it!!! Love and Hugs Grams

Good Morning Hope,
I am dropping by to check in on you. Betty said you are still having some problems with your blood sugar. I hope you have gone back to the doctor to see if they can get it straightened out. I will be praying for you. I have been missing you, but I haven't had the "want to" to blog myself much lately. I don't know if I am just losing interest or it's due to all the rain we have been having. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.
Love & Hugs,
Karen H.
