I've mentioned before that my mother had a strange way with words. One thing I can remember her saying was, "I feel so unnessary!" I learned at a young age to "read" my mother but I never fully understood this statement until I was older. I realize now that she was in a state of limbo..not feeling well enough to keep going but not bad enough to sit down and quit or just go to bed. Well, that's the state I'm in right now...feeling unnessary!
I've never been one to frequent my doctor's office. I'm more of a wait and see what happens kind of person. I started having symptoms which I thought was just a virus and I'd wait it out. Then came even more symptoms until I could wait no longer. I went to my doctor on Friday and he officially pronounced me diabetic! I've been teetering on the border for several years now. He seems to think that all these symptoms stemmed from my messed up blood sugar levels. So he put me on medication which my body seems to have a problem adjusting to. He said it might take some time so I'm waiting it out again.
I told Betty in an email last night about what's going on with me. She had noticed that I wasn't online as much or blogging as much. She told me she would be praying for me, but reminded me of the wonderful prayer group we have in Blogland and that I really should ask for your prayers. So here I am, asking. Basically, I'm asking you to pray that my body will adjust to this medication soon and that I'll be able to turn around all my bad eating habits. I've been on diets off and on for many years but this is a whole new ballgame to me.
Thank you, my friends, for always being there and praying. A special thank you to Betty for giving me a nudge!

Oh I will definately say a prayer for you. I know how hard it is with a diabetic and them adjusting to there meds. My dear sweet hubby is one and in the beginning it was not fun for him at all.
Hang in there and do what you are told and I will say a prayer for you.
Good Morning Hope,
Oh my, sorry to hear you are a Diabetic. I know that isn't any fun at all. I am a Diabetic also. I take a pill twice a day. When I first found out I was a Diabetic, it just scared me to death. I had to make a drastic change in my eating and exercising habits. I used to measure every little thing I ate and I walked every morning if it wasn't raining. I did lose about 40 pounds at first, but I have since gained it back. It is so hard to diet by yourself. There is alot of very tasty Sugar-Free items out on the market. My Parents are Diabetics as well and my Mom buys some good tasting sweets in the stores. She also makes Diabetic Pies and they taste better than the ones made with real sugar. You would be surprised at the foods there are for Diabetics. You know I will be praying for you and hopefully you will adjust to the meds. I don't know what kind you are taking, but hopefully in time, you will adjust. It's just so hard to make the change and I know you can do it tho. You are a strong woman and you have the willpower to do it. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.
Love & Hugs,
Karen H.
I'm here and on the case. I want you feeling better and back to telling us those funny stories. Feel better Hope! love,c
I've marked your request in my Prayer Journal.
Regarding our emails about this subject yesterday, for every two steps I take forward I fall one back...but I guess I'm making some sort of progress where I wasn't before...mark me down for prayer too!!
I think my sugar levels mess with my mood when I'm not eating right!!
Hope,
My goodness, you're having a hard time! I'm sorry that you have to deal with all this and you most certainly will be in my prayers. I know that all will be well. Hang in there!
Claudia
Hope, I am so glad you wrote this particular post to ask for prayers of others. Prayer is such a powerful thing, and God does listen and answers our prayers, maybe not always in the way we would like for them to be answered but always in our best interest. I do know for sure that God will help you to do what you need to do for yourself in order to be healthier. I pray that your body will adjust to the medication and that this will happen sooner rather than later.
Love and Prayers,
Betty

Count me in for prayer support. You have a lot to adjust to, I know. My dear little mother is diabetic so I have some understanding of your needs. You can rest in the arms of the Father as you go through this time of change. You ARE necessary!
Thank you for stopping by my blog and for leaving your sweet comments. I, too, have experienced songs in the night. It's a special thing God does when we need it most. And yes, it's a God thing!
Blessings to you,
~Adrienne~
Hope.. that is a saying that was said in our family too. Funny how we grab onto things as we get older.
I do hope and pray that you will feel bettter soon. I bet when that med gets you lined out you will feel much better.
Love ya, Brenda
Hope,
My prayers are going up right now for your healing and God's loving care to be with you. Thank you so much for sharing with us and giving us the opportunity to share your burden.
Sandra
of course you have prayers going up from here. With all the prayers we send up you will be doing well in no time!
I remember that "I feel so unnecessary" comment, haven't heard it in a long time!
I'll certainly pray for you! My hubby is diabetic, we're on a special diet for his health. We should start exchanging recipes.
God Bless,
Katherine
P.S. - I'm answering questions on my blog this week, have you asked me anything I haven't answered?
Hi Hope, it's kind of late but I was away for a few days and I'm just trying to catch up with my friends. I sure hope you feel better soon and your body adjusts to the meds. I will for sure keep you in my prayers and thoughts. Take care, hugs Linda
Yes ma'am, I'll pray for you! I know what you mean about feeling "unnecessary".
My sugar has been borderline for several years. My hubby and I have decided just this weekend that we've GOT to start eating healthier. Not a diet, mind you, but a change of diet and lifestyle.
Love and prayers going up for you, and a big HUG, Hope.
Diane
My friend Karen led me to your blog sweetie. I am also a diabetic. You will be in my prayers, please take gentle loving care of yourself. Sweet blessings to you.

Your friend,

Dearest Hope,
You know you can count on me to also say prayers for you...like any medication, our bodies need to get used to them and once the doctor has you on the right dosage for your needs, I've no doubt you will feel much better. It's getting to that right dosage that's the hard part! lol So many people are diabetic these days, it's unbelievable. It will mean some changes in your lifestyle but know that we're all here with you every step of the way. Love you! xoxo
Well Hope I have wrote two long comments to this post already and deleted them both. I have been dealing with diabetes for 14 years now. Some times it doesn't seem possible that I have been diabetic that long and then there are times when it seems as if I have been diabetic all of my life.
I remember how I felt right before I was diagnosed. I all of a sudden went from a "hard charging, nothing is going to keep me down, on the go, Mama of two" to a woman that felt limp as a dish rag and that had to force herself to put one foot in front of the other just to get through part of a day.
I am going to write about this on my blog within the next few days. Hopefully you will be able to draw something from what I say. Meanwhile you will be in my prayers and close to my heart as you deal with this new stumbling block in your life. Great Big Giant Hugs.
It's me again Margaret...
here is a link to a post I did in January concerning Diabetes: http://jonjdsbitsandpieces.blogspot.com/2008/01/diabetes-boot-camp.html
I hope it will be helpful. I am still planning another post in the next few days.
God Bless!
Dear Hope,
Prayers coming your way from me as well. Take heart, it gets easier after a while. I received my diagnosis as a type 2 diabetic 3 years ago. It was hard at first, but I learned to control it. And control it you must! And you will!
Hugs and Prayers,
Renie
PS. There are some excellent newsletters on Yahoo for diabetics, where you learn a lot from other diabetics. They're a great resource.
Hope,I'm pulling for you.I know that finding out that you have diabedes i s rough.Just follow the directions that the doc gives you, watch you sugar levels,I imangine you are still getting used to that.
My Mom had type two for about 5 years before she passed away. Her Sister,My aunt Pat was reciently dianosed with the type 2 form,my youngest sis has it also.I'm trying to watch my diet and my weight(not doing so well on that one)
My BH is a type 1 diabetic and has been one for about 40 years.
When I meet her and married her I made a bunch of changes to suit her needs,I.e. not sugared sodapops and the types of foods that she needed to eat.It was something to get used to but I made the changes because I care about her.
BIG Time Hugs and Blessings your way,Stay Strong Kiddo, there are a bunch of us out here that care about you.
Hope,
I haven't been visiting the last few days but I'm so happy to read that you did go to the doctor and now know what to do....my son-in-law is diabetic and really has a time but he is dealing with it.....
Thank you for the visit and yes God's timing is always perfect...Betty
I know that diabetes can be a very bad disease but if you take care of yourself it so helps you. We have ladies at CURVES that once they get to exercising it helps them so very much. Losing weight will help this I know for a fact. As we get older this stuff hits us and if scares me. I try to exercise of course hoping that this will help me. We have it in our family too.
You are right to ask for prayer because in this blogland that you are in...you will get it.
Sorry that I did not know.. Take care. Sandy
