Happy things..

I called this morning to check on Josie and I'm happy to report that she had a good, restful night. Mommy and Daddy are a little tired from being at the hospital, worried and losing sleep but doing better today too. Thank you again, my friends, for your prayers.

On another happy note, I want to share Dave's new find (my new treasure) with you. He found this little enamel top table at the flea market at a great price, as usual! He thinks it needs to be painted...I think it just needs to be scrubbed and left looking chippy. What do you think?

red table

Usually when you find a table like this it's just that..a lone table. This time there was an added bonus...two little white chairs with the matching red accents.

red chair

The chairs had been covered with the red and white checks which I think says "farmhouse"!

red chair 2

Our kitchen is not big enough to be an eat-in kitchen but this table and chairs are small enough to fit plus we will have extra seating if we need it. I think it will be nice when spring comes and we can have our coffee here at this little table in front of the open window! Ahhh...Spring....

I vote on just cleaning up the table and leaving it as is. It looks great. And the chairs too! I haven't seen an enamel top table since one that my grandmother had, about a million years ago.

Great for a cup of coffee in the morning!

Great news about Josie.....

I'd leave the table as is, other than a good scrubbing. We had several of those tables over the years. Good for making pie crust and bread, etc.

Hugs,

Diane

Good Morning Hope,
I didn't have any coffee left when you came by. I'm hoping you have a cup for me now. LOL. "PRAISE GOD" Josie is feeling better and rested good last night. Glad the Mommy and Daddy got some rest as well. I do hope you get to feeling better too. I'm still feeling a little puney, but maybe I can shake it off soon. Girlfriend, I so love your table and chair set that Dave found for you. I would leave it as it is and just clean it up a bit. Same with the chairs. I have a red and white checked cloth table cloth that would look absolutley gorgeous on the table. Wanna give me the table and chairs? LOL. I had to do that to ya. I know, I'm so mean. LOL. You know, it might look right cute sitting on your front porch this Spring and Summer. You could sit out there of the mornings and have your coffee and listen to the birds sing. Hmmmm, I sure need that table and chair set. LOL. Okay, I'll stop it. LOL. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.

Love ya and Hugs,
Karen H.

Hi Hope, Kelly hooked up the key board before she went to work and I'm out visiting my friends! It looks like you have had some hard days with your little grand daughter sick! I haven't been able to blog so I didn't know about this until I read about it a little bit ago over at Karen's blog. I am so glad she is feeling better! Praise God she is doing better!
I think your talble is so cute and the chair are too!! Love and Hugs Grams ps Karen took Kelly's lap top to be fixed yesterday!

I am so thankful that Josie is doing well. Prayers have been answered.

I love the table and chairs, Hope. Dave did good!! He thinks they need painting and you don't and what do I think? I think they may look older not painted but brighter with a fresh coat of paint. You asked - I delivered, lol. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

When Dave unbuttons his shirt is there a giant S on his chest? As in SUPER HUSBAND! I would be blown away if my hubby came home with anything this fabulous. Alas the poor man doesn't even go to flea markets. This is so gorgeous Hope. And I'm with you, leave it chippy!
So glad that Josie is doing well. You really need a whole month of boredom. Jennifer

I would clean the table well and leave it in its original condition. It's best to leave vintage pieces to show their age. The table and chairs are delightful. What a wonderful find.

Thanks so much for visiting and commenting on Michelle's surgery. Yes, she is blessed with a wonderful female GYN who understands all a woman goes through. She is a competent surgeon and I have much confidence in her.

I appreciate your prayers and will be praying for your little one as well.

Blessings,
Mary

Dear Hope,

I'm honored that you've added me to your friends list. I will do the same! I'm going to look back in your archives to see pictures of your porch. Spring can't some soon enough - I want to hang plants and spend some time on my glider.

Best,

Hi Hope,

Thank the Lord Josie is doing so much better!

I agree with everyone else, just clean up the table but don't paint it. It's adorable, as are the chairs. Farmhouse, for sure!

Have a great afternoon. Hope you're feeling okay now.

how lucky are you!! I love the table and chairs!!! I agree to not paint it.

I think it looks adorable just like it is. The chairs are perfect too. I have a table like that that I've had white and now black. When I got it my brother was throwing it away out of his garage, and the top was so rusty it had to be painted! Yours looks great! Enjoy! It makes such a cute arrangement. xo Rachel

Good Evening Hope,
I kept waiting to see if you were going to put up a new post, but since your not feeling well, I understand. Just wanted to drop by and let you know that my DH made it home around 5:15p.m. this evening. I was so glad to see him. We are under another Freezing Rain Advisory until 6:00a.m. We went up town and had supper and it was doing something out there then. It is 31 degrees right now. We may get a good dose before morning. Tis that ugly time of the month for me and my stomach has been hurting quite a bit today. I've been in and out of bed all day. I don't know if I will post anymore this weekend or not. It just depends on how I am feeling. If I don't you will know why. Take care my friend and have a great evening. I do pray that you will get to feeling better as well. May God Bless You and Yours.

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.

I really like that darling little table. And the chairs are so cute! I think you should just clean it up and see how it looks.

Thank you for visiting my blog and for leaving your sweet comments. Yes, I'm sure there were stairs down from the old schoolhouse door. For a fire escape. Maybe to use at recess time. I loved your description of the stairs to the Principal's office. Not someplace any of us wanted to go. Thanks for the link to the picture of your old schoolhouse.

I'll be back soon to see what you have to share.

I really LOVE your table and chairs. We had a table like this when I was growing up. I bet it would be worth something now but it is LONG gone.
I wanted to thank you for stopping by my birthday party on Wednesday. Was so happy that you could stop by.

Hope,

I love that table and chairs. I was telling my hubby about it and told him I was going to keep my eye open for one. I would love to find some of those chairs as well.

To answer your questions about my postcards. I used to display them but don't any longer. The air can deteriorate them and I keep them in acid free tissue paper inside an archive box. That way they will last for years.

Thanks for your interest. I've collected postcards for years and actually went looking for some today. I didn't find anything but always have my eyes open.

Michelle is home and was talking to her just after noon. She was tired and heading for a nap. Her friend dropped in and stayed for a couple of hours, so she was up pretty much the entire morning. She will have good and bad days, I'm sure.

Blessings,
Mary

Hope, I love the table and chairs. I see these tables out and would like to get one also; especially with the drawer in the front. Do you go to the flea market in Hillsville, VA on Labor Day weekend? I am planning on going this year...saving my money now :) I hope you will be feeling better, everyone here has had the "bug" also.

Thank you for the visit Hope and the sweet words you left in the comment. I just popped in this evening to repay the visit and take a quick look around. We got hooked up with high speed today and after four years of AOL...it is a learning experience all over again teying to use windows. I am going to add your blog to my blog list so I can pop back in from time to time as I am relearning windows.

I love the enamel table. When we bought this little house on the mountain the people that owned it before left one behind. I was tickled to death with it. We use it as our computer desk in the kitchen.

Again...thank you for the visit and leading me to your wonderful blog.

Oh, the table and chairs is just darling! I say just clean them up and leave them how they are:). Farmhouse residents used their belongings...no fancy-dancy stuff...lol. My grandparents had a farm in Grafton...to this day I have fond memories of being there.

ove the table and chairs. I have a very similar table in my tiny kitchen. Minde is a little more ornate on top.--it has red and white design. It has leafs (is that what you call them!!) that pull out to make the table even bigger.

So glad Josie is better :)

I love the table and chairs, great find from your hubby. I'm so torn between loving the farmhouse look and the primitive look. And of cours there is the cottage look, ugh, decisions!

Take care,
